- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sugar, honey, garlic, ginger, black pepper, sesame oil, and cooking wine.
- Add grated pear or apple to help tenderize the meat.
-
Marinate the Beef
- Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade and mix well.
- Cover and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for deeper flavor) in the refrigerator.
-
Cook the Bulgogi
- Heat a pan or grill over medium-high heat.
- Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until fully cooked (about 5-7 minutes).
- Add onions, carrots, and mushrooms and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
-
Final Touch
- Garnish with chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and a drizzle of sesame oil before serving.
Tips for the Best Bulgogi
- Use ribeye or sirloin for the most tender texture.
- Grating Korean pear or apple helps break down the meat fibers and enhances the sweetness.
- If grilling, use a cast iron pan or BBQ grill for a smoky flavor.
- Serve with lettuce wraps (ssam), rice, and kimchi for an authentic Korean meal.
